One list of everything under its minimum, with how fast each line moves and how many days of cover is left beside it. Friday's order is built from what the till sold, not from what felt low.

A supplier's price moves three weeks running and the old cost stays readable next to the new one, so what a case cost you in June still explains June's margin in September.

The stock take

Count a section while the shop trades. Let the variance explain itself.

Corelith freezes the lines being counted, takes the counter's figure without showing what the record expects, then sets the two against each other and prices the difference. The sheet does not close until the gap carries a reason and a signature from somebody above the person who counted.

A delivery is received line by line against the supplier's delivery note, so a short case is written down as a short-receipt while the driver is still there. A transfer leaves one storeroom as sent and arrives at the other as received — and whatever never arrives sits in transit with both storekeepers named against it.
