Park a basket while a customer goes back for the thing they forgot, and pick it up at any till on the shift.
A credit note fiscalises against #10188, and the unit goes back on the shelf.
A return is written against the sale it came from, so the refund, the stock and the credit note all point at one receipt. The reason is a field, not a courtesy.
The balance, the limit and what this sale would add are on screen before the goods leave the counter.
A till that is slow at the awkward sale is not a small problem, because the awkward sale is the one the queue is watching. Sell is built so the unusual one — three tenders, a return, an account customer, a power cut — costs one more tap than the ordinary one, and never a different procedure.

The screen carries the queue depth the whole time, so nobody has to guess whether a sale went through, and when the power or the line comes back the held sales post in the order they happened.

Nothing different. The screen says it is offline and the next sale rings exactly the way it rang an hour ago.
At the counterThe queue empties itself. A sale that could not post stays on the list with the reason against it, rather than quietly not existing.
At closeThe float goes in at open, the drops go out through the shift, and at close the cashier counts what is in front of them against a number that was being calculated while they worked. A shortfall is named on the night, by shift and by person, instead of arriving as one figure for the whole day a fortnight later.
The supervisor gets the count, the exception list and your note together.
It will not stand between a cashier and a customer. Nothing on that list blocks a sale — the approvals sit on the four things that actually move money, and everything else rings straight through.
A cashier learns this in a morning, because the till is one screen: scan, tender, print. Training happens on your own items at your own prices, in your own shop, with somebody standing beside them — and the first shift they close is their own drawer, in their own name.
Most shops do, and it usually rings a sale well enough. What it generally cannot do is tell the shelf, the books and the fiscal register what it just did, so somebody retypes the day into each of them. That retyping is the thing being replaced here, not the ringing.
Then keep it. Sell drives the device you own from the same sale, so the hardware you paid for stays in service. Where a counter has no device the sale is signed virtually and there is no new box to buy — and either way it is in the plan rather than charged per till.
That is the assumption the till is built on rather than a case it handles. It trades on the device with real sale numbers and printed receipts while the power and the line are both gone, and posts in order when they return. A shop that loses four hours loses no sales and no fiscal receipts.

Yes. Each part is entered against the same sale and the remaining balance comes down as you go. One receipt lists every part, the cash portion is the only one that moves the drawer, and the account portion posts to that customer's balance. It never becomes two sales.

The fiscal receipt is signed as the sale completes — virtually, or through the fiscal device already on the counter. If you already own a device, Sell drives it; if you do not, the sale is fiscalised virtually and there is no new box to buy. Corelith is registered with ZIMRA to fiscalise directly against the FDMS, which is why the sale signs from your own counter rather than through a third party. Registered is not approved: ZIMRA does not certify or endorse Corelith, running Sell does not by itself make your business compliant, and what you owe stays between you and your accountant.
The rate is set once for the business, by someone with the permission to set it. A cashier cannot change it at the till, and every sale is stamped with the rate that applied when it was taken — so a receipt from last week still explains its own arithmetic.
Nothing stops it outright, and a till that did would stop the queue with it. What happens instead is that every override, void, no-sale and refund keeps the name of whoever made it, the reason they gave and the minute it happened, and anything past the discount ceiling waits for a supervisor at the till. The pattern shows up per person and per shift, which is a conversation you can have on the night.

Choose a POS by testing the sale after it leaves the till. The right system should keep the queue moving, update stock and the books from the same transaction, continue through an outage, and give you a written total cost before you commit.
